What is journey church

SIN We believe in a garden called Eden, mankind was originally created to have friendship with God, but mankind willingly defied God and that friendship, choosing to go their own independent way. The result of that being; alienation from God and complete corruption of our nature. All individuals since have suffered these same consequences being in complete need of the saving grace of God.

The salvation of mankind is, then, wholly a work of God's free grace, not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness, as we must be personally appropriated by repentance and faith. When God has begun a saving work in the heart of any person, He gives assurance in His Word that He will continue performing it until the day of its full completion.

We believe the bible in its entirety originated with God and that He inspired chosen men through which each book was carefully written.

We believe the bible is infallible and inerrant inside of the original manuscripts. It is the full and final authority on all subjects of faith and practice and there aren't any other writings similarly inspired by God. The scripture commands us to regularly gather together to devote ourselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, service to the body through development and use of talents and spiritual gifts, and outreach to our world. Under the watchful care of supportive leadership, its members work together in love and unity, intent on the one ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

We believe both of them are symbolic in nature, but powerful in deed. We believe that human beings were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him Gen. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross solely provides for the forgiveness of sins Mark This salvation is not earned but a gift available by the grace of God alone Eph.

We believe that for every Christian the old way of living for oneself is in the past and the new way of living for Christ is for the present and for the future 2 Cor. We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the Head Col. The purpose of the church is to gather believers to glorify God by being a powerful witness for Jesus Christ in a lost world Matt. God wants to edify and build up His church, this is why the Holy Spirit gives a variety of spiritual gifts to believers such as; encouragement, serving, teaching, healing, prophecy, etc.

Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after His death on the cross. In addition, both the saved and the lost will be resurrected; those that are saved to the resurrection of life and those that are lost to the resurrection of eternal damnation.
