I think of books and movies as separate, especially if it's a TV show. This movie, unlike what some others say, is not THAT predictable. The dream-scenes in the beginning with Allie meant nothing to me, I didn't understand them at all. So, I didn't think she'd be King Arthur. Out of topic, but it would be nice if Disney did a medieval-theme movie that is sweet and family-friendly and not too much fighting at all.

Uh, I love female main characters, so it'd be nice too if the main character was a girl. Anyway, back on the movie, I enjoyed it.

I think it's the people who are very used to serious style movies and overboard drama like Pretty Little Liars, which my sisters watch that hate most of the new Disney onwards Disney stuff. This movie wasn't cheesy. It was clearly serious, in a mild fashion way. I'm not gonna lie but this is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I've watched this so many times and loved the whole plot.

It was very interesting and loved the twist at the end as it made sense. I love Allie and Will together and Gwen and Lance is perfect for each other. They kept me guessing until the very end on who King Arthur was and it made so much sense to me. The acting was fantastic too. If I were a host I'd give this movie an award.

I haven't read the book but from what I have researched into it the movie actually brought surprises and switched it up compared to the book. So I appreciate that. The overall plot is very slow and what promises a "fantasy" genre story isn't the case until the last 20 minutes.

Before that it's full of teen melodrama that is stretched so thin that you really don't care for any characters. That song is the only reason why I suffered through this entire movie. That song is the only good thing about this movie and it should be for sale on iTunes.. The only reason this movie deserves 3 stars is because it is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time.

It wasn't until about halfway through that i figured out it was not, in fact, a parody of Disney channel movies. However, I still expected a scene at the end where the purple haze clears to reveal the aging stoners that must have written the script of this mess.

Ah, the script. The lines were positively idiotic. Particularly the lines given to Allie's parents and Marco. This movie was not only uncreative, but the ending made no sense at all.

So Allie is King Arthur. So then what's up with Jen and Lance. And what does that make Will? And it would have made a lot more sense for Marco to just be bad. Why couldn't they just have done that? The acting was awful. But then I doubt that even good actors would have been able to make a script like that work.

The characters were trite and one-dimensional, especially because the 'surprise' plot twists only made sense to the addicts who wrote them. The costumes were freakishly cheap and fake-looking, and Will wore more makeup than Allie.

Merlin's robes at the end were hilarious. They looked like something a broke World Of Warcraft addict made out of curtains. In summary: You should watch this on Netflix with a ton of food if you're stoned out of your head because that is the only way you're gonna enjoy this piece of crap.

Momorocks 13 December I happen to be a huge Meg Cabot fan, and i loved the book. They also had nothing to do with the legend, thanks to the changes. The new ending and plot does not make as much sense. Its like they suddenly changed writers and directors almost to the end, there is not much set up for the ending. Its a pretty good DCOM, but I would recommend the book for a more complete story that follows a better plot line.

Avalon High is a fun updating of the Arthur legend. It is totally age appropriate for young teens--as opposed to many of today's films aimed at that age group. A high schooler, Allie, is used to her parents moving frequently, supposedly the result of their scholarship and expertise on the King Arthur legends. She's excited to find out that for once they will be living in a location for longer than six months. On her first day at school, she quickly observes some of the typical--and not so typical--drama that takes place on high school campuses.

The audience quickly becomes aware that a modern-day Camelot is unfolding. The characters are a little slower on the uptake. There were no award-winning acting turns, but there were no duds. I think Molly Quinn would have done better in the lead role than Britt Robertson; Quinn has more depth to her as an actress, even though Robertson is older with more credits to her name.

The twist at the end was a little out there, and just barely worked, but it was still an entertaining film. FutureOne 24 August I am always looking for stories that my two Nieces would like as well as other younger family members.

But I found this particular story great for an adult too! This was very well put together. Thankfully I had not read the synopsis here before watching or it would have been ruined for me.

This played out like a good book in many ways. Also I think Brit Robertson is an exceptional actress and improves nearly any story she is in. Nothing else to say here 'cept if you have not seen it yet do, but do NOT read the Synopsis here by xcharliegirlx or it may ruin an otherwise excellent production for you.

I know this is Disney but The script is horrible. The special effects are pathetic worse than the Disney TV shows and that says a lot. And the acting is so bad it is hard to believe that at least four of main actors have regular jobs on TV. I have seen in other reviews that the book is apparently much better. If that is the case I pity the poor people that had to watch this abomination with prior knowledge of the written material and came to this with expectations of something they would like.

After this little incoherent debacle my faith in that prognosis is shaken. I understand it's supposed to be cheap and cheesy because it's a Disney channel movie, however this just exudes awfulness.

Throughout the day, she tries to avoid talking Will due to the pleading looks of Jen and Lance they keep giving her. Marco also warns Allie about telling Will about Jen and Lance. However, the Will meets up with her while running and become closer.

At the game, Lance is temporarily distracted by Jennifer's cheerleading, allowing Will to get hit by the opposing team. This cost them the game, and possibly the state championship. Afterwards, Allie sits with him by the field, intending to tell him of Jennifer's betrayal, but Marco interrupts her.

That night, Miles comes to her house and hesitantly reveals that he can see in to the future. He came to tell her that there is a hidden page in the book on the Order of the Bear. They learn that the coming of Arthur is on a night of an eclipse and a meteor shower, the day of the big game.

The book also warns of the coming of Mordred, who intends to destroy his half-brother Arthur. After getting more insight from her parents, they begin to suspect Marco may be Mordred. Allie also begins to think that Miles may be Merlin, but he begs to differ. The next day, they have a big exam. Marco plants a cheat sheet on the bottom of Will's shoe.

Moore almost gives him detention but decides to give him benefit of the doubt. However his team resents him for the incident. They no longer respect his authority as team captain.

Later that day, Allie reveals to Mr. Moore that she believes that Will is King Arthur and asks for his help in protecting him. In the chemistry lab, Miles and Allie's experiment goes wrong due to tampering, and Marco warns them about meddling. On the night of the game, Will sees Jen kiss Lance.

Will gets in his car and drives away. Allie runs after him to the same spot where the first talked. Someone pushes her down. She tells Will that fate is involved in what happened. That he is King Arthur. He gets mistaken and thinks that its a metaphor. After her speech he gets courage to win the game despite what happened. Will speeds off without giving Allie a chance to explain.

At the game, just when he's about to play, its lights out because the eclipse and meteor shower have begun. Lights come back up and game continues, but his line men don't defend him properly. At halftime, Will speaks with Lance, and the two mend their friendship.

Will also gives a pep talk to his team and forgives Jen, but he forgets his helmet in the locker room. Before he goes back to get it, he tells Allie to meet him after the game, but he doesn't come back to play.

Allie and Miles go looking for him in the locker room but can't find him there. Miles sees Will in a vision in the theater room. They find Marco on the ground and Will injured, but Will says it wasn't Marco that hurt him. Moore comes out of the audience seating and tells them he himself is actually Mordred.
